Bugaboo Donkey is one of the most loved sibling strollers for a reason: it is built to follow your family through every stage. Now Donkey 6 arrives as an evolution of Donkey 5, with the same iconic flexibility but with upgrades that make everyday life even smoother, the stroller even more thoughtfully designed and the feel even more premium.
Just as before, you can switch from a single to a sibling stroller in three clicks and enjoy a wide, stable side-by-side feel that many parents appreciate with two little ones. At the same time, the width in double mode is still 74 cm, so it fits through standard doorways.
What’s new in Donkey 6?
Donkey 6 focuses on four clear areas: better ventilation and comfort, larger and smarter storage, more premium details and more sustainable materials.
1. Better ventilation and a more thoughtfully designed bassinet.
One of the biggest upgrades is in the bassinet. Donkey 6 has larger ventilation panels (twice as large, according to Bugaboo), giving better airflow on warm days. The inside is lined with 100% organic cotton, and the apron is longer and closes with a zip instead of Velcro – quieter and easier to use.
2. Larger underseat basket and updated side bag
Storage has had a real boost. The underseat basket is stated to be 50% larger and holds up to 15 kg (compared with 10 kg on Donkey 5). The side bag has also been redesigned and can be used both on the chassis and on the handlebar.
3. A premium feel in the details
Donkey 6 has several visual and practical design updates that give a more exclusive overall impression:
• the function buttons are black with glossy details (instead of white)
• colour-matched harness with longer straps
• a pocket on the seat backrest
• engraved logo on the handlebar, a discreet embroidered logo on the seat, and a footrest fully covered in fabric for a cleaner look.
4. More sustainable materials and a lower carbon footprint
The choice of materials is a big change in Donkey 6: 100% recycled outer fabrics (from PET bottles) and parts made from 60% recycled aluminium and bio-based plastic. The fabrics are dyed using a more energy-efficient method that uses less water and makes the colours more resistant to fading. According to Bugaboo, the carbon footprint has also been reduced by 17% compared with Donkey 5.
